Power in the Name

Not to long ago...a few seconds to be exact. I was sitting on the couch, taking a quick rest from studying, and as I laid back and closed my eyes, all I could hear was my dryer running in the background. So what's so great about that? Glad you asked! I realized that I had just put clothes in the dryer and all I had to do to get them dry was press one button. It was so simple and I barley had to put in any effort. While listening to the dryer run, I started thinking about how powerful the machine has to be, in order to spin over and over and get hot to dry my clothes...and all I had to do was push one button! You would think I needed to spin something to get it started or do something more but no it took one simple push of from my index finger and it started! Then it hit me! Saying the name of Jesus is just as powerful (actually more powerful). That's all I have to do in order to get rid of my problems and fears, that's what it takes in order to get things started in my life! I just need to say the name of Jesus! Although we need to obey and pray daily too, in order to break strongholds, and make demons tremble we just have to open our mouths and say the name of Jesus! There is power in his name!

Reverse the Casual Curse

Are you guilty of the casual conversation curse? I know I have been, and I'm ready to put a end to it. I would like to say that the tittle sounds worse than what it is...but that's just not true. How many times have you had a conversation with a friend or associate telling them about something you may be facing, or getting ready to face, and all through they may mean well they speak something negative? For instance I'm getting ready to start my semester at CIU, while having two children and writing a book. When I discuss the excitment with people sometimes they turn it into fear. They say things like well how are you going to do that? or Girl, your going to be dog tired or that's going to drive you crazy, you wont have time for anything. Although people may mean well, when they speak something over your life dont just stand by and recieve it. Tell them that your standing on God's word, and that your more than a conqueror! It's ok to be positive, speak the word and reverse the curse. Tell them that the last time you checked you could do all things through Christ who gives you strength! Dont allow your self to agree with everything that comes out of someones mouth...even for the sake of conversation. There is power in words so speak and agree wisely. Well I'm off now to have a great day, filled with blessings  and joy. I hope you have a blessed day!!!

The Single Fear

I have a confession...a few years ago as I was approaching the age of 26 I was very anxious about finding a husband. I couldnt believe that I was still single and couldnt understand it either my personal deadline for marriage was approaching fast! The thought in my mind was I'm a nice girl, kind of cute lol and a woman after God's own heart so why am I still single, I wondered. Well the revelation didnt come until after I  turned 26; I was having devotion time and being honest with God about feeling lonely and asked him to take it away. Well over the next two weeks he did it!!! I honestly didnt feel lonely anymore! God spoke to my heart and told me to continue to put him first and once I really devoted my time to putting him first, the lonliness went away. Although I still would love a husband/companion the reasons have changed. I'm not as selfish anymore, I'm not looking for someone to complete me and truthfully I'm just not looking. I know that when the time is right God will send the person he made especially for me and he will do the same for you. No matter what it is you want to happen in your life, be encouraged that God's timing is perfect.YOU DO NOT NEED TO SETTLE for anyone or anything. In the mean time feel those spaces with his word and heart to heart talks with him. What have you been anxious about? Read Phillipians 4:6
